Short version: I run a small travel blog. I try to collect the minimum data possible. I don't sell your data. Here's what's actually happening.
Who runs this site
Rumroom World is a personal travel blog operated by Kseniia. Contact: hello@rumroom.world.
What I collect
Email addresses (only if you give them)
If you sign up for the newsletter or download a lead-magnet (e.g., a Bali first-timers checklist), I collect your email address and any name you optionally provide. I use this only to:
- Send you the resource you signed up for
- Send occasional travel tips and new-post notifications
- Reply to messages you send me directly
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. If you reply asking to be removed, I'll do it manually within 7 days.
Basic visitor analytics
Like most websites, I track aggregate, anonymized analytics — page views, country (rough), device type, referrer. I do not use Google Analytics' invasive features, and I do not run advertising trackers on this site.
Affiliate cookies
When you click an affiliate link (Booking, SafetyWing, Airalo, etc.), the merchant — not me — places a tracking cookie on your browser. This cookie attributes any subsequent booking back to my affiliate account so I can earn commission. I have no access to the cookie itself or your booking details. What I don't do
- I do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
- I do not use behavioral advertising on this site.
- I do not share your email address with affiliate partners.
- I do not run third-party tracking pixels (Facebook Pixel, etc.).
Where data is stored
The blog itself is hosted on Vercel (United States and EU edge regions). Email subscriptions, when active, are managed through a third-party email service (Buttondown or ConvertKit — I'll specify here once selected). Each provider has its own privacy policy and is GDPR-compliant.
Your rights (especially if you're in the EU/UK)
Under GDPR and UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data I have on you
- Ask me to correct or delete your data
- Withdraw consent for marketing emails (use any unsubscribe link)
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority
To exercise any of these, just email me. I'll respond within 7 days.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16. I do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has signed up, contact me and I'll delete the account.
Updates to this policy
If I change anything material, I'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for substantive changes, send a notice to email subscribers.
